How To: Delete an IP Address
Test and manage the IP blocking that keeps the Visa offer from showing to customers who've already registered, or to your own showroom.
What This Protects Against
The moment a customer registers for the Visa offer, their device's IP address (and a tracking cookie) gets flagged so the offer won't show again on that device — preventing the same person from registering multiple times.
Testing That It's Working
Register a test lead from your dealership's website, then refresh the page — the offer should disappear site-wide on that device. That confirms the blocking is functioning correctly.
Resetting an IP Address
- Log in, go to Tools → Admin Console.
- Find the IP address for desktop devices — your current device's IP is shown automatically.
- Click Unblock This IP Address to reset it and see the offer again (useful for repeated testing).
- If you also want to retest the entrance notification specifically, clear your browser cookies, since the offer's "already seen" state is tracked there too.
Blocking Your Own Dealership
It's worth proactively blocking your own showroom's IP address so staff computers never display the customer-facing offer. From the same Admin Console screen, click Block This IP Address — this has the same effect as registering from that device, and typically blocks the whole location at the router level, covering every computer on that network.
Check Your Understanding
Answer all three questions correctly to unlock your certificate.
1. Why does the Visa offer disappear from a device right after someone registers?
2. Where do you go to unblock or reset an IP address for testing?
3. Why is it recommended to manually block your own dealership's IP address?
